Travel, tables, whisky

MilesMalt is an editorial blog on travel, food, restaurant reviews, and whisky. We read a place through its meals, its dining rooms, and the glass poured at the end of the day.

What sits on the table tells you where you are

Four threads, one table

What we write about

Each dispatch follows the same question: what is served, where, and why it matters to the place.

Travel

Regional journeys

Walking routes, market mornings, and the everyday gathering spots that show how a town eats and spends its evenings.

Food and reviews

Honest restaurant notes

Considered reviews of room details, service rhythm, and plates as they actually arrive at the table, without sales language.

Whisky

Start with flavor

Approachable tasting notes that begin with what you smell and taste, then widen into context, distillery, and region.

Our approach

Travel through the table

A meal can tell you a lot about where you are, especially when you take the time to notice what is on the table. We pay attention to the room, the pace of service, and the local ingredients that repeat from one town to the next.

Whisky belongs in the same conversation. A glass at the end of a long day can carry the grain, water, and wood of a region, and we write about it plainly, starting with what you taste.
